Lock for bowden cable actuated bicycle component - passes inner cable strand through switchable locking mechanism, blocking its axial sliding

The lock prevents operation of a bicycle component which is actuated by a Bowden cable. The inner strand (13) of the Bowden cable is passed through a switchable locking mechanism (9). In released position, the inner cable slides in longitudinal direction through a passage in the mechanism, while in a secured position its axial movement is blocked. The mechanism is preferably operated by a lock (5) with a key (29). ADVANTAGE - Simple and reliable locking of brakes, derailers etc..
