PURPOSE:To form a thermal head having a large adhesive strength between the heating resistors and the protecting layer as well as high reliability by forming the heating resistors from a material comprising a metal (compound) and AlN and the protecting layer from AlN. CONSTITUTION:Through a glaze layer 2 on a ceramic substrate 1, a large number of sets of a heating resistor 3 comprising a metal or metallic compound (example; Ta, CrSi or the like) and AlN (aluminum nitride) and an electrode 4 are arranged in parallel at fixed intervals, and this is moreover coated with a protecting layer 5 of AlN to form a thermal head. |
