A seat (11) for a vehicle includes securing means (15) releasably to secure at least part (12) of the seat to a body structure (13) of the vehicle and occupation prevention means in the form of a lever (28) displaceable by part (16) of the body structure when the seat is secured thereto to prevent occupation of the seat whenever the seat is not secured to the body structure, by preventing unfolding of a backrest (18) to an in-use position.
