A floor is formed from triangular panels 10 each cut away at at least two apical portions and supported at each apical portion upon ledges 16 on upstanding supports 12 in butting contact with head portions 18 of the supports. The support may comprise a stem 14 resting on or fixed to the ground, a hexagonal head 18 and a hexagonal ledge 16, each panel having its apical corner removed so that six panels abut the head and the surface 22 is flush with the panels. The panels may be tray-like and be covered with e.g. a layer of timber veneer or vinyl which extends over the edge of the panel so as to abut adjacent layers on adjacent panels, the ledge plate then being provided with upstanding radial ridges. The adjacent panels may be interconnected (Fig. 8) by joining strips 54. The panels may define right angled triangles cut off only at the acute angled apices, the head portions having right angled recesses to receive the right angled panel apices, Fig. 5 (not shown). The panels may be of timber, fibreglass, metal, block board, expanded polystyrene. |
