<p>The power supply to the load (RL) is switched by a transistor (T1). The device consists of a resistor (R1) connected between the common point (OUT) of the load and the transistor, and the midpoint (P) of a resistor bridge (R2, R3). The voltage (Vref) on the negative input of the comparator (C1) is held at a value half way between those of the voltages which are applied to the positive input in the case of an open circuit (CO) fault or a switch permanently on (CP) fault. The output of the comparator (C1) identifies the fault, in the case of a malfunction, detected by the comparator (C2). Application to smart power circuits switching an electric load through the neutral terminal of that load. <IMAGE></p> |
