Procedure for verifying the status of switches located in an installation by means of portable analysis equipment. The procedure consists in the connection to the switch of mobile equipment by means of a shuttle-shaped device provided with an analyser and a connector, the shuttle-shaped device having a removable cover and connecting the shuttle-shaped device in turn to the portable telephonic modem from which the transmission is effected to a receiver connected to a mainframe computer in which the analysis of the data obtained from the switch is effected, subsequent to the analysis carried out the data being transmitted to the various maintenance points of the network. <IMAGE>
