System for constructing buildings based on wood, especially buildings of one or two floors whose walls and partitions are formed by horizontal panels of wood superposed via the longitudinal edges and given holes which can be placed opposite one another, which run between said longitudinal edges, in order to accommodate connection bars. The panels which run horizontally with respect to one another have, from their surfaces which can be placed against one another, individual vertical housings which can be placed opposite one another which run between the longitudinal edges and are intended for receiving a common connection element.
