A new procedure for changing and controlling the colour of solid materials by the application of electric current. It consists in the deposition of a conductive layer on which, in turn, a second layer of coloured material is deposited which has the property of changing colour with the application of electric current according to the potential to which it is subjected, relative to an electrode.
