The vehicle according to the invention comprises at least four driven wheels, it is of the type with power distribution by side. It comprises compound steering consisting of a first method of steering comprising traditional means for orientating the wheels of at least one axle by offsetting a steering rod (10) and of a differential mechanism (6), and of a second method of steering of the "skid steering" type by means of the same differential mechanism (6) in superposition, comprising a neutral shaft (15) which is motorised as a function of the desired turning radius. The vehicle can be steered, at high speed, by the steerable wheels (2) alone, and, at low speed, by the steerable wheels (2) and/or the neutral shaft (15).
