[Class 113 (ii).] A framing for boats comprises U-shaped metal transverse frames B which may be hollow or of U - section. Longitudinal metal frame members are welded or brazed to the inwardly bent upper ends 6 of the transverse members. Additional bracing members may also be attached at these points. The stem 17, Fig. 5, comprises the metal tube carrying wing-plates 18, the planking and the rounded nose being attached to the stem by screws 13, 20. The boat is also provided with lower transverse frames 9, covered by flooring 10 to provide a watertight chamber 15, the flooring and the exterior planking being covered by a waterproof fabric. |
