1,248,651. Interlaced yarn. SOC. RHODIACETA. 18 March, 1969 [18 March, 1968], No. 14299/69. Headings D1F and D1W. A process for the manufacture of a highbulk yarn comprises passing at least one yarn through a zone in a nozzle in which it is subjected to the action of a turbulent fluid and from which it is withdrawn in the same direction as that in which the fluid leaves the zone, the yarn being fed into the nozzle non-axially so that it rubs at least lightly on the wall of the nozzle. The yarn is preferably fed into the nozzle in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of passage of the yarn in the nozzle. More than one yam may be fed into the nozzle, the velocities being the same or different. The yarn obtained may be withdrawn intermittently, which withdrawal may be controlled by a variable profile cam or a variable speed motor. At least one of the yarns fed into the nozzle is a continuous filament yarn. |
