In the line deflection circuit, for a cathoderay tube, forming the subject-matter of Specification 1,133,528, over-heating of the final transistor T2 due to self-oscillation in the event of failure of the driver transistor T1, is prevented by the inclusion of a capacitor 8 in the base circuit. The reactance of capacitor 8 should preferably be between one-fifth and onethird of the impedance of the secondary winding 4 whilst the turns ratio of transformer 1 should preferably be 20: 1. Inductor L B ensures rapid turn off of T2 after a delay due to carrier storage as described in Specification 1,234,607. |
