<p>PURPOSE:To improve correlation between fields and to execute high-efficiency compression by correcting the positions of picture elements between fields. CONSTITUTION:An input signal 1 is blocked by a blocker 2 and for a blocked signal 3, (h) point orthogonal transformation is horizontally executed by an orthogonal transformer 4. For an orthogonally transformed signal 5, primary transformation is vertically executed at a point 2v by a primary transformer 20. For such a primarily transformed signal 21, a (v) pieces of high-order components are moved corresponding to a high frequency component by a thinner 2 and only the (v) pieces of components corresponding to a low frequency component are encoded by an encoder 24. In this case, the deviation of picture element positions caused by interlace in odd-number and even-number fields is reduced by interpolation at the primary transformer 20, position matching and orthogonal transformation. Thus, correlation between fields can be improved and compressibility can be improved as well.</p> |
