PURPOSE:To effectively suppress vibration of a stepping motor by providing load torque predicting means, and output torque regulating means for controlling an output torque to a desired value based on information from the load torque predicting means. CONSTITUTION:If a print signal is generated from an image generator 800, a printer controller 80 sets a VR set value to an M level, then conducts a stepping motor driver 810, and starts rotation by a slow-up pattern. A printer controller 801 sets the set value to an H level before a frictional force of a feed sheet pad 406 and a sheet is generated at a sheet feed roller 701 by a sheet feed start signal so that a load torque becomes heavy, raises an output torque and then output the start signal. The set value is set to the M level at a weakening timing of pressing pressure of the roller 701 and the pad 406 due to the drop of a sheet feeding port plate 404 upon starting of feeding a sheet, and followed to a reduction in a load torque. |
