PURPOSE:To accurately find an approximate figure of an ellipse by simple calculation by finding a rectangle which is circumscribed with the ellipse, dividing the sides, and generating intersections with the ellipse and connecting the intersections. CONSTITUTION:Coordinates of the major axis and minor axis as ellipse data are supplied from an input means 2 to a CPU 1 and stored. Then the rectangle which is circumscribed with the ellipse to be found is found with the input ellipse data and the center point of the circumscribed rectangle is found. Then an ellipse intersection generating means 4 finds points for dividing the long sides and short sides of the circumscribed rectangle at equal intervals, connects the respective points by straight lines, and generates the ellipse intersections with the intersections of those straight lines and the ellipse. Then an intersection approximating means 5 connects the respective intersections by straight lines to perform straight-line approximation. The result of the straight-line approximation is connected by a dotted line and expressed. |
