<p>A. 1 This device (an ionisation lighting arrestor) is comprised of: 1. A support mast (male). 2. A phosphoric bronze connector. 3. A high energy insulation ring. 4. A stainless steel disc, insulated from the support mast by means of 4-6, serves as an ion accelerator (potential trigger) receiving electrical potential from the atmospheric layer in which it is located. The ions produced by the radiation source are reflected by this disc and directed back towards the clouds. 5. Pins facilitating triggering on reception of the electrical potential. 6. An ioniser. Stainless steel or gold-plated pin. 7. Ionisation chamber. 8. Brass protective cover, which when detached during installation of the lighting arrestor, releases the radiation source. 9. Brass plates having the radiation source at their centre. 10. Stainless steel or gold plated rod connected to ground. 11. Stainless steel shaft. 12. A phosphoric bronze grounding conductor clip. 13. Grounding conductor. Suitable placement of the radiation sources inside the ioniser renders impact ionisation useful and protects the elements from corrosion or oxidation effects due to weather conditions, such as rain, hail etc.</p> |
