<p>PURPOSE:To purify exhaust gas without increasing exhaust pressure loss or the like by providing a pair of electrodes spaced a predetermined interval from each other in an exhaust path to electrostatically collecting Diesel particulates with the negative pole and a high voltage power supply for supplying high voltage between the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas from a marine Diesel engine is sent through the upstream side exhaust pipe 1a into an outer can 2 and then exhausted to the outside through the downstream side exhaust pipe 1b and silencer (not shown). Then, negative DC voltage is applied to a high voltage electrode 5 by a high voltage power supply 6 to generate corona discharge between the high voltage electrode 5 and outer can 2. Thus, Diesel particulates in the exhaust gas are charged with negative electricity and drawn by an electric field between the high voltage electrode 5 and outer can 2 to be accumulated on the inner peripheral surface of the outer can 2 and exhaust the clean exhaust gas from the downstream side exhaust pipe 1b. On the other hand, to clean the accumulated Diesel particulates, it suffices that both lids 24 are removed from a main tubes 23 and porcelain insulators 3, 4 to remove the internal Diesel particulates.</p> |
