[Also in Division H4] A nonlinear amplifier for hearing aids comprises tandem resistance coupled amplifying transistors T 1 , T 3 with interposed gain control 13 energized from a microphone 1 to drive an output transistor T 3 energizing an electroacoustical transducer 2 in its collector circuit; there being provided a capacitance coupled feedback path from output to input of T 3 comprising antiparallel germanium peaking diodes D 1 , D 2 in series with fixed and preset resistors 20, 21, such that the gain characteristic asymptotically approaches the maximum output level of the transducer. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the feedback circuit is inserted between the output of a further transistor amplifier identical with that driving the transducer, and the common input thereof.</p> |
