PURPOSE:To enable automatically learning the unknown correspondence between the expressions of two languages by equipping a means of detecting correspondence of a word order relation and a means of confirming correspondence of the word order. CONSTITUTION:A means of detecting correspondence of a word order relation 10 detects a Japanese-English corresponding candidate 11 in the word order relation for which an equivalent term in translation does not exist in a translation dictionary 8 by comparing the word translated from the Japanese input sentence in use of the translation dictionary 8 and the given English to find the difference. A means of confirming correspondence of the word order 12 registers the Japanese-English corresponding candidate 11 as an idiom in a correspondence table of the Japanese-English word order relation 9 and deletes an Japanese item in the word order relation which does not have the equivalent term off the correspondence table of the Japanese-English word order relation 9, so a complete correspondence table 16 is prepared in which all Japanese expressions in the correspondence table 9 have the equivalent expression. Thus, the correspondence of the Japanese-English word order relation can be learned. |
