PURPOSE:To decrease the number of control signals and to shorten the processing time by using a barrel shifter as a means which position a certain bits of source data at a desired bit position in a word unit. CONSTITUTION:The source data is inputted to the barrel shifter 1 which has bits twice as many as the source data. The data of the high-order half of the barrel shifter 1 and data from a temporary register 3 are inputted to data composition logic 4, which composes data to be sent a destination area. The composite data of the logic 4 which contains an ineffective part and the data of the low-order half of the shifter 1 are inputted to a multiplexer 2, which selects and sends one of them to the register 3. Thus, the processing time can be shortened with the simple procedure. |
