This invention relates to a process for the preparation of deodorant compositions for controlling body odour caused by sweating, comprising a disulphide agent and a topical vehicle for application to the skin in the region of the armpits or crutch or articles of clothing used in proximity to this skin. The applicable deodorants comprise disulphide compounds, in which the compounds mentioned have the general formula: R - S - S - R in which each R is selected independently from the group comprising cyclic rings of five or six elements, which may or may not be substituted, containing at least one atom of nitrogen in the said ring, in which the said nitrogen atom is not linked to an atom oxygen to form an N-oxide. This invention also relates to a vehicle for a washing product, a vehicle for the treatment of fabrics, and a fabric conditioning agent.
