<p>An electrically driven fruit tree thresher for the harvesting of olives, almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, and similar is comprised of a main bar of aluminium tubing (2), reinforced on one side and attached to a motor (1) at one end. The other end it is fixed to a base (11), which transmits the motion of the motor through an axle (8) which passes the active element (7) through the tubing. This (active element) is a rhomb shaped rotating plate of durable plastic (or other material), rotating laterally and having slightly sharp, upper and lower edges with no right or acute, but all obtuse angles. Across its two flat faces are two channels (16) with holes and between these and their corresponding ends are two 5 mm. wide flanges or "lips". Over the surfaces of the plate are two wires passing over the channels. The bar is held in the hands at an inclined position and not vertically. The plate rotates laterally and to the left, as apparent when holding the thresher, and approaching the fruit. The rotating plate acts in general like a vibrator on the sprouts, while threshing the fruit with its channels and lips so that the sprouts and leaves are not damaged because they slide on the flat surfaces while the fruit is pulled by the flanges (lips) of the channels and fall from the trees. It operates with 12 V DC 3A and weighs approximately 4 KG.</p> |
