[Also in Divisions C3 and D2] Roofing elements are cut from a sheet material comprising 54-70% by weight chrysotile asbestos, 10-40% by weight of bitumen or coal tar pitch, and 3% by weight of a fatty acid soap. In one embodiment the roofing element 13 is a rectangular plate in which perpendicularly to one of the longer edges 14 there are provided slots 15, 15 2 , 15 3 , 15 4 , 15 5 , parallel to the smaller sides 16 and 17 and extending over substantially one-third of the width of the plate. Identical plates may be supported on spaced apart parallel battens in overlapping relationship. In further embodiments differently shaped elements may be laid on discontinuous battening to constitute a roofing. |
