A method for measuring the longitudinal extent of pipes 1 driven down into the ground can be implemented by an arrangement which comprises an object 16 which can be lowered into the pipe and is arranged so as to follow the inner walls 29 of the pipe and a measuring device 14, 25 arranged so as to measure the position of the object in the lateral direction relative to a defined straight line running essentially parallel to the longitudinal extent of the pipe and also the distance the object is lowered in the pipe at measuring points corresponding to an object lowered to different depths in the pipe. This arrangement also comprises a system 6, 13 for suspending the object 16 in an elongate flexible element 15. The measuring device is arranged so as, when the element 15 is stretched essentially rectilinearly, to measure the position of said element on passing through a predetermined measuring plane which is essentially at right angles to said line. <IMAGE> |
