PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for setting a document, to copy even the document whose size is larger than that of the document platen and to prevent the document from being damaged by feeding the document in accordance with the speed of a photosensitive drum at a position where the document is separated from the document platen. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a document leading edge detection means and a jamming detection means 30, and a continuous paper document feeding means 9 is set on the optical path 10 of the glass surface of the document platen of a copying machine main body, then the continuous paper document 8 is fed at a feeding speed in accordance with the document reading speed of the copying device. By feeding the document by the feeding device 9 set on the document platen, the document 8 is consecutively copied without being reset one by one, the time spent in a copying operation is drastically reduced, and even the document whose size is larger than that of the document platen is reduced to be copied. Furthermore, the document is prevented from being damaged when the document is jammed by the jamming detection means. |
