The spindle motor protecting circuit protects the spindle motor from overload. The circuit includes a PWM pulse generator (30) for generating PWM pulses to control the spindle motor (10), a PWM pulse to voltage converter (40) for converting the PWM pulse into driving signal of the spindle motor, a motor driver (50) for driving the spindle motor, a control switch (SW1) for switching the current path from the motor driver (50) to the spindle motor (10), and an overload protector (60) for controlling the control switch according to the driving current.
