PURPOSE:To lay out rows across plural areas at equal intervals by storing information of row positions and determining the distance to another adjacent area to determine the position of an area. CONSTITUTION:Contents of a certain layout unit are laid out in an idle area 405, and an area 404 is arranged. When the area 404 whose contents are characters is laid out, the forward extent size of the last row in the area 404 and an effective inter-row space for the laid-out last row in the case of the existence of a next row are stored. Information stored at the time of layout of an area adjacent to the area 404 is referred to lay out rows as if rows were continuous, and the distance between areas is so determined that rows are arranged at equal intervals. Thus, arrangement positions of areas are so determined that rows are at equal intervals. |
