PURPOSE:To realize a humidifying apparatus easy to mount by reciprocally driving a humidifying roll humidifying the surface of a printing plate and the supply roll rotated in contact with said humidifying roll to transfer and supply moisture to the humidifying roll in the shaft axis direction of both rolls. CONSTITUTION:A doctor 16 is provided to a supply roll 13 in order to uniformize the water film on the peripheral surface of the supply roll 13 and, in a usual offset press, a humidifying roll 12 is rotated at speed faster than that of the supply roll 13 and rotated several times during a period when the supply roll 13 makes a one revolution. Therefore, the humidifying roll 12 is once slowly moved left and right while rotated several times during one revolution of the supply roll 13. Therefore, the surface of a plate 11 and the peripheral surface of the humidifying roll 12 as well as the peripheral surface of the humidifying roll 12 and that of the supply roll 13 are gently rubbed with each other and the thickness of the water film on the peripheral surface of the supply roll is uniformized and the water ghost due to the irregularity of the water film is eliminated. |
