MOTION VECTOR DETECTOR AND FLUCTUATION CORRECTOR FOR IMAGE

PURPOSE:To detect a mobile material with high sensitivity by using a correlation value between areas or the difference of the time fluctuation value of the correlation value. CONSTITUTION:An image signal continuing for at least fields >=2 temporarily is inputted to an input terminal 1. At vector detection circuits 2a-2d in a detection area, the difference of signals at positions deviated by a prescribed quantity of range for each detection area between two fields is found as the correlation value, and it is set as the vector of each area. At reliability decision means 4a-4d for vector, the reliability of each detection area is decided from the correlation value inputted from correlation value detecting means 3a-3d, and a decision result and the motion vector of each detecting area are outputted to a motion vector decision means 7. The motion vector for the whole picture can be decided from a reliability decision result at every detection area and the difference of the correlation value between the areas.
