The invention is of the field of equipment for vehicles and its subject is a method and its implementation means, with the object of preventing unauthorised use thereof. This method, the object of which is to disable the starting of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, is characterised in that it consists in interposing, in the ignition circuit, a double-acting relay (2) with locking contact and at least one switch, which latter may be one of those for the accessories of the vehicle (46) and/or a push button (16), the said interposition being carried out by means of an attachment device connected to the circuit by means of the existing terminals for the accessories of the vehicle, and a set of self-stripping branch connectors. <IMAGE>
