PURPOSE:To prevent a jitter from occurring at the boundary of a video signal and a mask signal even in a signal without burst and a non-reference signal such as VCR by interpolating the boundary of switching of a compressed signal and a mask level by information in a clock. CONSTITUTION:A converted digital signal is demodulated at a demodulation circuit 2, and a demodulation signal A is outputted. The demodulation signal A outputted from the demodulation circuit 2 is compressed in a horizontal direction at a compression circuit 4 setting a horizontal pulse D as reference, and a compression signal B is outputted. Thence, the compression signal B and the mask signal are switched at a correction circuit 5 by the horizontal pulse D, however, the boundary of the switching is interpolated between the last sample I of the video signal and the first sample J of the mask signal by using the information E in the clock, and an output signal C consisting of the video signal and the mask signal can be outputted. |
