Pref. ethylene and/or propylene oxide is reacted with an alcohol with at least 3 OH gps. in the ratio of 1-10 mole oxide/OH gp. at up to 150 degrees C and 7kg/cm2 pressure. More specifically glycerine, dextrose, alpha- and beta-methylglucosides, saccharose and starch is used to give an improved mineral yield. In an example a copper ore contg. 2.05% Cu and 0.04% MoS2 is ground with fuel oil, ethoxycarbonyl ethylxanthate and a reaction product of propylene oxide and alpha- and beta-methylglucoside, Cu yield was 91.4% and MoS2 yield 78.81%.
|
