The present invention relates to artificial seaweed modules. The module according to the invention is characterised by the fact that it includes a ballast body 4 produced by means of two steel L-sections, with unequal legs, and that by virtue of its specific weight, its small, flat volume, it offers only a small hold to the action of the swell. Integral flexible thin strips 5, inserted and trapped between the two edges 7 of the short legs of the L section by bolting 6, include rigid and hollow and entirely leaktight float tubes 10, for example (plate 1). In an advantageous embodiment, the ballast footing 4 may, as a variant, consist of concrete, reinforced or otherwise, of aluminium or any other metal and/or alloy, or of a bag envelope made from a geosynthetic or plastic material, filled with sand or any other granulate. The assembly of the thin strips to their floats by means of a weld 9 is characterised by the fact that the material of the thin strips and the material of the float tubes are of the same composition. Numerous applications, especially in the fight against the erosion of sandy beaches and of the shoreline, promoting sedimentation of solid particles in transit along coasts, transported by the long shore drift current (tide). <IMAGE>
