A method of continuous pressure gluing battens on their long sides involves feeding batches of battens (12) in to a glue applicator (13) and on into the press (16) against a stop, via a roller aggregate (14). The stop is controlled to produce a friction strength between it and the adjacent batten (12) during the glueing process, which is greater than the strength of the press feeder, and this strength relationship is maintained until the feeder process reduces the friction strength. USE/ADVANTAGE - A constantly maintained and adequate level of press strength is achieved.
