The loudspeaker has a row of stationary electrodes (1) of alternating polarity, and a membrane (2) threaded between them via associated spacers (3), lying alternately on the opposite sides of the electrodes so that the membrane passes between the parallel opposite surfaces of each 2 adjacent electrodes. The membrane is pref. held via a tensioning device acting on it at either end, with each electrode pref. rectangular and made of metal, or a conductive plastics. ADVANTAGE - Large membrane surface in small dimensions, without partial oscillations.
