A shield support frame has a compact ventilation cooling device (20) inserted through an opening (21) in the long side of the roof cap (3). The device (20) is in the form of a cylindrical rod and fits in a specially designed space in the cap (3). This space is a borehole (18) and in which a guide bolt (17) is attached to the device (20) and is covered by a cap (11). USE/ADVANTAGE - The device is fully integrated in the cap and does not encroach on the tunnel space.
