The structure forming a car park with side by side compartments, uses a two tier platform inside each compartment. Each platform can be raised and lowered by a scissor linkage underneath, to support two cars at different levels. When the scissor linkage has been folded flat, it can travel sideways on rails under the platforms, from compartment to compartment, so that any selected platform can be raised or lowered. The scissor arms are supported by a low level wheeled frame and are erected by hydraulic cylinder. The bottom of one arm slides inside the frame and the bottom of the other arm is connected by a hinge to the frame. The tops of both arms engage the bottom part of the platform when extended. The frame carries a hydraulic pump.
