Wound ice cream cone with a coloured pattern on the outside is mfd. from a dough (8) which is put in the lower half (3) of a baking mould, which is closed by an upper half (4). The dough is baked to produce a round flat waffle plate (14), which is removed from the lower mould half and is wound with its upper surface outwards to produce the cone. A printer (9) transfers dyes (11) into the upper mould in mirror image form and dyes are baked into the waffle disc. ADVANTAGE - Shearing of the pattern is avoided.
