摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a Li secondary battery having excellent charging/ discharging characteristic by using a specific Li-Mn composite oxide as pos. electrode active substance. CONSTITUTION:Li acetate or Li acetate-dihydrate and Mn dioxide are subjected to a heat treatment to synthesize Li-Mn oxide in which can be index allocated with cubic crystals of lattice constant a0=8.15Angstrom (0.815nm) at Li/Mn=3/5 thru 5/5 (mol ratio). and the resultant is used to pos. electrode active substance of a Li secondary battery. That is, the production rate of Mn<3+> is lessened by yielding a Li-Mn composite oxide having as small a lattice constant as a0=8.15Angstrom , structural change from cubic crystal to square crystal on the basis of Mn<3+>, which should enhance the charging/discharging characteristics. Thereby a Li secondary battery having excellent charging/discharging characteristics is achieved.
