PURPOSE:To provide a recording ink consisting of a mixture of a specific amount of a water-soluble dye, a polyhydric alcohol, a surfactant and water, having specific viscosity and surface tension, exhibiting excellent ejection stability to form a straight jet and giving a high-quality printed letter. CONSTITUTION:The objective ink has a viscosity of 3-7cp and a surface tension of <=44dyne/cm at 20 deg.C and is useful for an ink jet recording device to preform recording with an ink ejected from a nozzle. It can be produced by mixing (A) 0.3-5wt.% of a water-soluble dye, (B) 30-60wt.% of a polyhydric alcohol such as triethylene glycol or glycerol, (C) 0.2-3wt.% of a surfactant such as an acetylene glycol-type nonionic surfactant and (D) water. |
