<p>PURPOSE:To control a delayed fluctuation absorption range adaptively by allowing a discrimination control section to reset a read address from a read address generating section when it is discriminated that the arrival of a received cell is in excess of delay fluctuation absorption range. CONSTITUTION:When no delayed fluctuation exists, a reception cell written in a random access memory 1 is read after a prescribed resident time. Moreover, when the delayed fluctuation is larger with in the delayed fluctuation absorption range, since a difference between a write address and a read address is small, the received cell is read in a shorter resident time than a prescribed resident time to absorb the delayed fluctuation. When the absolute delay time is largely changed, the received cell reaches in excess of the delay fluctuation absorption range, and a discrimination control section 4 resets a read address generating section 3 so as to use a difference between the write address and a maximum delayed fluctuation range as a new read address when the excess of the delayed fluctuation absorption range is discriminated based on the difference between the write address and the read address. Thus, the delayed fluctuation of the received cell within the delay fluctuation absorption range is absorbed.</p> |
