PRODUCTION OF ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE EMULSION AND MATERIAL TREATED BY THE SAME EMULSION

PURPOSE:To obtain the title emulsion consisting of a specific organopolysiloxane, a catalyst for polymerization, a surfactant and water and capable of suppressing a produced amount of an non-condensation-reactive organosiloxane oligomer in emulsion polymerization and suitable for inorganic fiber and organic fiber treatment. CONSTITUTION:An emulsion consisting of (A) an organosiloxane consisting of a compound expressed by the formula (R is monovalent hydrocarbon; m is value corresponding to <30-10000cS viscosity at 25 deg.C) and being <=5000ppm in non-condensation-reactive organosiloxane oligomer having >= 20 silicon atom numbers, (B) a surfactant, (C) a catalyst for polymerization, provided that it is unnecessary when the surfactant (e.g. alkylbenzenesulfonic acid) having catalytic action is used as the component and (D) water is subjected to emulsion polymerization at <=40 deg.C to provide the objective emulsion containing 1000-10000ppm content of the organosiloxane oligomer incapable of carrying out condensation reaction in the produced organopolysiloxane.
