PURPOSE:To obtain a foamable composition suitable for floating materials for fishing net, having excellent mechanical strength, comprising a mixture of a high-density polyethylene having specific density and melt index and a low-density polyethylene, a thermally decomposable blowing agent and a crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. mixture of A1: 40-60wt.% high-density polyethylene having 0.945-0.970g/cm<3> density and >=15 g/10 minutes melt index and A2: 60-40wt.% low-density polyethylene having 0.915-0.935g/cm<3> density and 0.5-7 g/10 minutes melt index, (B) 2-30 pts.wt., preferably 3-10 pts.wt. thermally decomposable blowing agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide or N,N'-dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine) having 170-190 deg.C, preferably 175-185 deg.C decomposition temperature and (C) preferably 0.5-2 pts.wt. crosslinking agent (e.g. dicumyl peroxide). |
