<p>A compact hammer mill is provided for shredding metal objects and the like. The hammer mill essentially consists of hammers (1) mounted on a driving drum (2) arranged within a crushing enclosure (3) having screening walls and driven by an electric motor or heat engine (8), said enclosure (3) being connected to a feeder device (4) lying in a plane which is parallel to the discs (5) forming the driving drum (2), and therefore perpendicular to the axis of said drum (2). The drum has a reversibly reduced width of one or more discs (5) depending on the width of the materials fed thereto.</p> |
