PURPOSE:To improve workability of welding by generating magnetic fields so as to impart the rotating energy within the plane perpendicular to the progressing direction of plasma to the plasma. CONSTITUTION:Plural electrodes 1, 2, 3 are disposed in a gas cup 4. The respective phases of an AC power source of plural phases are connected to the respective electrodes 1, 2, 3 and the neutral point of the AC power source 10 is connected to a work 11. A plasma arc 19 is generated between the power sources 1 to 3 and the work 11 by the impression of the AC power source 10 to the respective electrodes 1 to 3. A magnetic field generating means (coil) 12 is disposed in proximity to a nozzle port 5 of the gas cup 4 and the magnetic fields are so formed as to apply the rotating energy within the plane perpendicular to the progressing direction of the plasma 19 to the plasma. The irradiation of the surface of the base metal with the plasma over the wide range thereof is possible in this way. |
