The casting for use in vehicle bodywork has two or more datam points spaced apart on one side. These consist of bosses (6, 7) formed on and/or recesses (10 - 12) formed in the side surfaces. There can be three such points, arranged in a triangle, and is the case of bosses these can be concal, with their axes extending in the same direction. The points can be situated where wall thickness is greatest and/or ribs are provided, to give maximum stiffness. ADVANTAGE - Easy handling. |
