Equipment on a textile machine is employed to determine the tension on a yarn, which is measured in a spring guide fixed to a bracket on the machine. The elements are formed as a single entity. Pref. the unit (30) is constructed in one flat piece of sheet metal 3mm thick. It is fixed to the machine (34) by a screw (32) and two location centres (33). The top bracket (37) extends from the fixture, and the bridge (36) acts as a spring to the guide (35). The end section of the guide is cut with angled sides (38) and a groove. The thread (39) falls into the groove and exerts a tension in the direction (40). The spring bridge (36) allows the guide (35) to move in direction (41). The vane formation (42) at the end of the guide (35) fits into a cut-out in the top bracket (43) with gaps (44a, b) to prevent excess movement. ADVANTAGE - The construction is uniform across a series of units. The design is sturdy, and performance does not alter with vibration or hysteresis.
