PURPOSE:To provide an electrode of hydrogen storage alloy having a high capacity stable from the initial period of charging/discharging by including oxy Ni hydroxide or Ni oxide in the electrode. CONSTITUTION:Either oxy Ni hydroxide or Ni oxide is included in an electrode. This addition of specific substance to a hydrogen storage alloy electrode forms a local cell on the surface of alloy, and soluble elements will elude away to cause production of an active Ni condensed phase on the surface of the alloy, which facilitates alloy activation in the initial period. Thereby a capacity to meet the rated value can be obtained even from the first cycle of charging/ discharging. |
