Polymer-bonded, anisotropic magnet materials (I) contain 90-95wt.% Sr and/or Ba hexaferrite with mean particle dia. 0.5-5 microns (II) as magnetic filler in an organic polymer matrix (III) obtd. by poly-addition of a diepoxide and an amine with 2 or more N-bonded H atoms. (II) is used without prior modification with the usual coupling agents; (III) is the macromol. reaction prod. of Bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (DGEBA) and benzylamine and/or aniline, or of Bisphenol F diglycidyl ether (DGEBF0 and benzylamine, or of DGEBA and benzylamine and/or N,N'-dibenzyl-5- oxanonane-1,9-diamine (OPD 91), or of DGEBA and N,N-dipropylenetriamine (H3) or 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane (MDA), pref. by thermal reaction of 76-78.5wt.% DGEBA, 0-24wt.% benzylamine and 0-21.5wt.% aniline, or of 50-76wt.% DGEBA, 0-24wt.% benzylamine and 0-50wt.% OPD 91, or of 77.5 or 86.6wt.% DGEBA and 13.3wt.% H3 or 22.5wt.% MDA; (II) is incorporated into the liq. monomer mixt. and the paste obtd. is cured at 80-120 deg.C in a magnetic field of 3-15 kOe; the cured material can be processed as a thermoplastic and oriented in a magnetic field. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are used as drive components in mains- and battery-operated electrical equipment, and as permanent magnets for loudspeakers and actuators in automation systems.
