PURPOSE:To shorten a span of time required for copying as well as to improve the copying speed by transferring an electrostatic latent image formed at time of the first time transfer repeatedly on an image carrier, when the plural times of transfer takes place, at an image forming mode for copying. CONSTITUTION:An original 61 is placed on an original glass plate 18, making one edge of an image 62 so as to accord with a scan starting position of a scanner, and scanning is started synchronously with a position sensor of a transfer drum 36, but this scanning is performed for only the required range. In brief, it is for only an arrow range corresponding to the image 62, an when this scanning is over, the scanner is returned. Successively shifting to the formation of a next image 65, in this case, the scanning area is the same as the case with the previous image 63. However, scan start timing of the scanner is performed at slower timing than at time of the previous image 64 as far as a ratio of 'image forming area shift value/system speed.' With this constitution, time required for copying is halved and the copying time is redoubled. |
